Starship is developing several robots to deliver packages to your local area when needed. To achieve this, robots need to be safe, respectful, and efficient. But how do you get there with less reading tools and less expensive sensors like LIDAR? This is a real building block that you have to deal with unless you are in a situation where customers pay $ 100 for delivery.
First, robots are beginning to recognize the earth with radars, multiple cameras and ultrasonics.
However, the problem is that much of this information is cheap and meaningless. For example, a robot can detect the movement of an object ten feet[10 m]away, but without knowing it, it is difficult to make good decisions.
Machine learning through neural networks is surprisingly effective in transforming these that have not been developed into high-level information.
Starship robots often drive on roads and sidewalks when needed. This poses some problems compared to driving alone. The traffic on the highways was well-designed and well-known. To get a better look, Starship models run more than 2000 FPS when tested on a consumer GPU, and convert the entire 360-degree panorama image in a single click. This is equivalent to 10,000 FPS if you shoot only five images with batch size 1.
Neural networks are better than humans at most visual problems, even if they are still viral. For example, a tight-fitting box may be too large, too low, or too short to compare in an empty space.
