Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo continue to share the views of football fans around the world. Former Manchester United player Robbie Savage has jumped on the bandwagon GOAT debate, he says this season could give Ronaldo a chance for Messi.
He he explained:
“I think this is a very important season where Ronaldo, for me, will be named the best player. Messi started for PSG, you know, he was injured several times and he never started well.”
“I would say, because Ronaldo has played in Spain, he started in Portugal, has come to the Premier League, Italy, and now is making 36 in the Premier League.”
The 46-year-old added:
“I would say that the biggest players if this season rules, Ronaldo in the Premier League gets 20 goals, and Messi is fighting against Ligue 1, I would say Ronaldo is the biggest.”
Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo have ruled the world for the past two decades. They share 11 Ballon d’Or awards among them.
Both players have faced new challenges this summer. Messi left Barcelona after spending 21 years at the Camp Nou, and moved to Paris Saint-Germain, where he signed a two-year contract.
However, Ronaldo stopped contacting Juventus this summer in exchange for a return to Manchester United.
